The specially developed star-medico® mattresses feature a highly elastic orthopedic core made of high-quality MDI Comfort foam. The core consists of two components: The upper layer, the brown foam with a density of 70/30 kg/m³, is softer and provides pleasant pressure relief. The lower layer, the white foam with a density of 40/45 kg/m³, is slightly firmer and offers stable support.
MDI Comfort foam offers numerous advantages that make it an ideal choice for mattresses. It is characterized by high flexibility and shape retention, adapting perfectly to body contours and thus providing excellent spinal support. Furthermore, this cold foam offers outstanding breathability, promoting a pleasant sleeping environment, and is hypoallergenic.
The combination of a softer and a firmer section of the mattress core optimizes the mattress’s orthopedic properties. The softer upper section relieves pressure points and ensures a comfortable feel, while the firmer lower section provides the necessary stability and support. The gray inner cover, also called the “stocking,” is a highly elastic functional fabric with silver content. This is the first layer that encases the mattress core, providing exceptional protection.
The outer cover is made of a stretchable and pre-washed Tencel® fabric, a very high-quality natural fiber. It also contains SilverVital Plus, which includes 3% silver thread. The top and bottom of the cover are interchangeable and washable.

Tencel is a botanical wood fiber derived from nature. It’s a lyocell fiber and is not only the number one choice for moisture management, but also absorbs up to 50% more moisture than cotton. Tencel® is a pure wood cellulose fiber made from eucalyptus wood sourced exclusively from sustainably managed forests. The production of Tencel® is environmentally friendly and free of chemical additives. Compared to cotton, Tencel® requires 10-20 times less water and has a 6 times higher yield per unit area.
